Sorry, Capital Glass does not install auto glass.

Do you install Glass and Windows in Reno, Sparks, Fernley, Fallon, Minden, Gardnerville, Dayton, & Lake Tahoe?

Yes, Capital Glass services Northern Nevada and parts of Northern California. We are also a national glazing contractor that has large scale projects located throughout the United States.

How many years have you been in business?

Capital Glass was founded in 1968 by Donald and Virginia Larkin. We have grown the business on the principals of hard work, quality, and accountability.

What is the difference between Annealed, Heat Strengthened and Tempered Glass?

Annealed Glass:
Annealed Glass is raw glass with low, residual stresses. This enables cutting and fabrication.

Heat Strengthened Glass:
Flat or bent glass that has been heat-treated to have a surface compression between 3,500 and 7,500 psi (24 to 52 MPa) and meet the requirements of ASTM C 1048, kind HS. Heat-strengthened glass is not a safety glazing material and will not meet the requirements of ANSI Z97.1 or CPSC 16 CFR 1201.

Tempered Glass:
Glass that has been heat-treated to have either a minimum surface compression of 10,000 psi or an edge compression not less than 9,700 psi in accordance with the requirements of ASTM C 1048, kind FT or meet the requirements of ANSI Z97.1 or CPSC 16 CFR 1201 safety glazing standards. Tempered glass is 4-5 times stronger than annealed glass, and when broken, breaks into small, relatively harmless, pieces. Tempered glass must be marked with a “bug” or logo that identifies it as tempered. The “bug” may vary, but will always contain reference to the American National Standards Institute standard ANSI Z-97.1. In special circumstances tempered glass can be ordered without the bug.

What is your standard warranty?

Subject to the following terms and conditions, Capital Glass, Inc., provides to our customers a LIMITED WARRANTY for a period of ONE (1) YEAR from the completion date of our work. Capital Glass warrants only to the extent the materials are warranted by the manufacturers to the owner, ordinary wear and tear, unusual abuse or neglect exempted. Modification, service, or tampering of installed materials by anyone other than Capital Glass, unless expressly written and authorized may void this warranty. Capital Glass does not warrant any glass against breakage from any cause. Replacement work provided under the terms of this warranty, shall be warranted only for the balance of the original warranty period.

This warranty is in lieu of any and all other warranties, express or implied, including, without limitation, any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Capital glass will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, punitive, consequential exemplary or other damages of any kind whatsoever, other than direct damages based on Capital Glass’ failure to honor its “repair or refund” obligations set forth below, whether such claim is based on theories of contract, warranty, negligence, tort, strict liability or otherwise. As a prior condition to any obligation of Capital Glass, the purchaser must have fully and finally paid for the work purchased from Capital Glass and must have provided written notice to Capital Glass of any claim being asserted. That notice must include proof of purchase and payment and a written description of the alleged defect. The determination as to whether the warranty is applicable shall be made by Capital Glass and, unless clearly erroneous, shall be binding on the parties hereto. In all events, Capital Glass’ sole and exclusive liability and the sole and exclusive right of the purchaser for an actual breach of the warranty shall be limited to the replacement of our work, or the refund of the original purchase price, at Capital Glass’ option. Under no circumstances shall Capital Glass be liable, directly or indirectly, for any actual or claimed labor costs, expenses or obligations, which may arise from the work of other trades. The terms of this warranty shall control any additional or conflicting terms contained in any purchase order or other document. The entire warranty is embodied in this writing and this agreement may be amended only with the express prior written consent of an officer of Capital Glass, Inc. and this instrument is the complete and exclusive statement of the terms hereof.

Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other legal rights, which vary from State to State.
