We’re proud to be entering our 49th year of business, but how did we get our start?
In 1967, Donald (Don) & Virginia (Ginger) Larkin moved from New Orleans to Carson City, Nevada. At that time, Carson City’s population was approximately 10,000 people. Don was a commercial glazier and was hired by the only glass company in Carson at the time, Jim Dandy Glass. The owner of Jim Dandy Glass quickly noticed that Don was pretty much running things and he offered to sell the business to Don. In 1968, Don took him up on the offer and Capital Glass was born.
Almost 50 years later, Capital Glass has become a household name in Northern Nevada, and we don’t take that for granted. Scott, Greg, Keith and Dan Larkin all still serve in leadership roles at the company, ensuring their parents’ values are being practiced with every decision made at Capital Glass.
We are currently based in Carson City and have been providing the Northern Nevada region with the highest quality of products and service from that location until approximately a year ago. It was then that we opened our second location on South Virginia Street in Reno near Bishop Manogue High School. Between both of our locations, we have approximately 55 full-time employees – all loyal and the absolute best in the business (if you ask us).
